Where can I find these Vans Old Skool shoes?
When I was in Japan in February, I saw a pair of Vans Old Skools that I now want. Instead of having the usual mix of black canvas and suede on the the uppers, they only had black canvas. The "sidestripe" detail (fake leather part) on the outside-facing side was pink, while the "sidestripe" detail on the inside-facing side was blue. The laces were yellow. I've checked the Japanese Vans site (though I can't read Japanese) and the American one, and I can't seem to find them. Can anyone help?

Its going to be very hard to find these exact shoes. Trends change, and theyre probably not made anymore if you cant find them on the website. I have plenty of pairs of Vans that are years old that were discontinued. Vans with a side stripe are made pretty much exclusively canvas/suede mix - and I havent seen many vans that had colored side striped. Realistically the person might have colored in the side stripes, and they probably changed out the laces with ones purchased separately. People tend to self customize their canvas shoes.
This is pretty much the standard Old Skool vans http://shop.vans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product2_10001_10147_10101_302010_-1 It wouldnt be difficult for you to paint the side stripe with waterproof material and change out the laces to look kinda like what you wanted.
If you cant find it on the vans website, theyre probably not made anymore =/
